The Government Inefficiency
and
the Wilcoyote Law
(What do we want?
“Democracy” or the Good
Government?)
The multiplicity of manifestations against the government
which constantly happen in the streets and the insults which the Prime Minister
is forced to hear when he dares to go out of his office into the open air,
clearly demonstrate, so it seems, that the present “democratic” politicians do
not know what Democracy is. ‘Minister’ means ‘servant’. A minister serves the
King in a monarchy, but he must serve the People in Democracy. Something is
wrong with them: their bad politics and their bad human attitude, which so
irritate the population.
And more: this government accepted its election by the
majority of the electors. However, it does not accept that the “The Treaty of
Lisbon”, that is, the approval of the entry of Portugal in the E.U., be
confirmed by popular referendum. What does this mean? This means that the
government manipulated the People to be elected, but now does not trust him for
the approval of the E. U.. It really serves the oligarchs and plutocrats of the
E. U.. The case of the 3% which has been so debated by the Finance Minister is a
requisite of Maastricht, which must be obeyed at all costs, notwithstanding the
growing difficulties of the Portuguese.
And more: these manifestations and insults against the
government and the prime minister have been ascribed by the latter to the
“communists”. Firstly, the communists in Portugal have a political electoral
force of only 10%, and they could not mobilize such big manifestations.
Secondly, even if they had that possibility, the communists in a democracy are
also respectable and they have to be attended to. He who does not respect them
is not a democrat.
The real truth is that all of us are displeased with such
governing, though some may defend it: those well located in the system from
which they take advantage.
Democracy has failed everywhere. Monarchy failed, democracy
failed, socialism failed, communism failed, capitalism failed. What does this
mean? It means that all political systems ever tried since the French Revolution
and the Illuminism, which so much glorified Equality, Liberty and Fraternity,
never managed to achieve the equality, the liberty and the fraternity, at least
in grade acceptable by the governed. Still thrive those with unlimited liberty
and those with every kind of impediment. Still thrive the excessively abusing
rich and the forced poor. Still thrive hate, envy, pitilessness, lack of
charity. Some say that humans are very imperfect and unable to be satisfied with
whatever they receive. If so, let’s finish with this hypocritical democracy and
let’s adopt an authoritarian political regime which can maintain people within
reasonable limits. This solution is not pleasant, though it might not be so bad
as the current one. What to do? That’s a question frequently made by
politicians, like Lenin’s “chto delat?’”
The answer may be found in the Italian article in
“www.noeuro.com”, “The Wilcoyote Law”.
Capitalism and Communism, however dissimilar they may seem,
are brothers in the same idiosyncrasy. Both are materialistic, both emphasize
“work”. In the Communist Constitution, at least in Stalin’s time, a clause said:
“Kto ne rabotaet, tot ne est’” (Who does not work will not eat”). The
capitalists, even though they do not have this clause in their Constitution,
have the same concept well ingrained in their minds: “Who does not work, has no
money to eat and dies, unless he makes himself a beggar or a thief”. Is this
right? Is this humane? A human being, when he is born, has the right to a decent
life and to live with the natural dignity of God’s creation.
31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’
or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek
after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things
will be added to you. 34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for
tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
The Italian author indirectly mentions Christ’s words. Never
before were we so near, so it seems, to put in practice Christ’s
teachings about the material survival of all human beings, in spite of
general fear, threats of a world hecatomb and widespread misunderstanding. When
the financiers recently made the paper-money independent of any guaranty, maybe
thinking they were duping the gullible people we all are, they in fact made a
precious service to the whole mankind. Money is intrinsically valueless, it may
be produced at low cost and theoretically without limits, and distributed to the
populations so that all may acquire what they most need. It is the end of
wretched and infamous poorness. And the citizenship income is born, which
in practical conditions makes true the so-much claimed for equality, liberty and
fraternity. The well studied, well implemented citizenship income will
make mendacity disappear, as well as slavery, class struggle, outrageous
injustice, communism and capitalism, though a fight may for a long time go on
between the poor and the abusing rich, who will never easily lose their slaves.
But life is a continuous fight and it is worthwhile to try to
make this century and this millennium the Resurrection Era of Humanity.
I am hearing people say: THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE! People from all
ranks and races: from financiers to priests, from rich to poor, even from the
slaves who toil to enrich the explorers of human credulity. Impossible? Why? It
was never tried! And will it be impossible to try ?
Let’s have courage!
Let’s be generous in trying!
God will be with us!
History is not finished, and the courageous,
the generous, the people of God will certainly continue it!
